Lisa Vernon is a Licensed Social Worker with more than 30 years of experience serving individuals and families across foster care, education, home health, and counseling settings. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, strengths-based care through advocacy, emotional support, and holistic interventions that promote resilience and lasting growth. By blending her passion for the arts with social work principles, Lisa creates meaningful experiences that foster healing and well-being.
Lisa earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has additional training in dynamic mindfulness, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care. Her clinical interests include expanding equitable access to mental health care, supporting children, adolescents, families, and underserved communities, and addressing the social determinants of health through behavioral health, community outreach, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Lisa is a Licensed Social Worker with the Texas Behavioral Health Council, a Licensed Professional Educator with the Illinois State Board of Education, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in The Colony and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also a presenter and curriculum writer, leading workshops on social-emotional learning, family engagement, restorative practices, and collaborative partnerships.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, supporting her faith community, dancing, working out, writing, public speaking, and serving her community.
