HHM Imaging Center has brand-new, state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment. Our new GE Pristina mammography machine was designed by a woman who understands the stress, anxiety, and discomfort that accompanies your mammography exam. The GE Pristina was designed to ease patient anxiety and provide a more comfortable experience. The Pristina has the lowest patient dose of all FDA approved 3D mammography machines. The convenient design of the system eases muscle tension in patients and improves visual details with lower radiation exposure. Furthur, the ease of patient positioning increases with large upper space below collimator and backspace. The detector plate is made of Caesium iodide enabling it to maintain a comfortable temperature despite the ambient temperature. The mammography software includes an artificial intelligence (iCad) that can help detect questionable areas of the breasts that may require special attention by our Radiologists, which improves breast cancer detection rates.
HHM Health accepts Medicaid, Medicare, ACA plans, and the following commercial insurance:
Amerigroup, Humana, Baylor Scott and White, Aetna-Medicaid-Better Health, Aetna PCP (must be an HHM Health Provider), Bright Health, Parkland, Molina, Superior, Texas Health Women, United Health Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Well Med, Cigna, Tri Care-Human
What is Mammography?
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers diagnosed among women in Texas. Mammography is an examination of the breast using low dose X-rays to evaluate breast health. Mammography is considered the most effective tool for early breast tumor detection and can show changes in a breast up to two years before a patient or physician can feel a lump. HHM Health uses the GE Pristina, designed by a woman, which decreases a patients anxiety. The machine has temperature control and uses artificial intelligence to detect problem areas.
What is an X-Ray?
X-ray is the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.
The machine produces a 2-dimensional image of internal body structures
to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. HHM Health’s
technologist are highly skilled to ease your pain and anxiety during this
exam.
If you need an X-ray, call 214-221-0855 to schedule an appointment.
What is a Bone Density Scan (Dexa)?
Bone densitometry (DEXA) measures how strong your bones are. The test will tell you if you have osteoporosis (or weak bones), and it can help you understand your risk of breaking a bone in the future. Women are at higher risk for osteoporosis than men, and the risk increases with age. There are no signs or symptoms of osteoporosis and you may not know you have the disease until you break a bone. That is why it’s important to get a bone density test to measure your bone strength.
If you would like a bone density scan, call 214-221-0855 to schedule an appointment today.
