Colon cancer is a disease that happens when bad cells grow in the large intestine (colon) and form lumps called tumors. These tumors can spread and make a person very sick.
One way to prevent colon cancer is by getting a colonoscopy. This is a test where a doctor looks inside the colon using a small camera on a thin, flexible tube. During the test, the doctor can find and remove small growths called polyps before they turn into cancer.
A colonoscopy is safe and can save lives. If you know an adult who is 45 or older, remind them to talk to their provide about getting one, but feel free to schedule a colonoscopy today.
